Christmas is very close!! For this post I want you to think about Santa Claus. First find out where and when this symbol of giving got started. Then tell me your most vivid memory of Santa, what happened and what did it mean to you?
The symbol of giving got started in Jeruselum when our Lord Jesus Christ was born. My most vivid memory of Santa is when I was little my uncle dressed up as Santa and came in the house with a bag full of toys. Sometimes I still think he is still real.
I don't believe in Santa so, it began in European and Middle Eastern Christendom in the 3rd Century.Christmas celebrations did not gain widespread prominence however until the Middle Ages or starting from around 400AD. December 25 is not the actual birth of Christ know one knows when he was born. The last Christmas I remember that I believed Santa was in 3rd grade and I got, can't remember.Possibly the first representation of Santa Claus was Sinter Klaas, the Dutch old man who brings presents, candy, and sweets to kids in a December 5th parade.
The symbol of giving got started in Jerusalem after "The Savior" was born. When I was about 5 my mom made me go to the mall and try on clothes and there i saw Santa Claus. I asked my mom who the guy was and my mom said it was Santa Claus. She made me sit on his lap and he asked me what i wanted for Christmas. I did not know what he meant, but i thought free toys. And that's my first time I saw Santa.
I don't believe in Santa Clause but he originated in Lycia His parents taught him to be generous so He went around giving present to all the kids in his village. My most vivid memory was when I went to the mall with my family to see him, but I don't believe in him any more so that is the end of that.
Christmas started in AD 243 in Rome. My most vivid memory is when i sat on his lap in 3rd grade. I asked for almost everything, like a 4 wheeler, dirt bike, car, X box, and a lot more.
I it all started when our savior, Jesus Christ, was born in Jeruselem. My most remembered memory of Santa was when I was in 4th grade, my grandma got Santa to come to our house and give us persents. I had 6 little kids around there with me when he came, and everybody was excited for his arrival. We all also got to take a picture with him......... I think we stil have that picture..........somewhere in my house. Oh wel, I'll find it someday. What that memory ment to me was my parents and my grandparents cared about us kids enough to get Santa to come over. That ment a lot to me.
The American version of St. Nicholas, or Santa Claus originally came from the Dutch version called Sint Nikolaas or Sinterklaas. The Dutch settlers in New Amsterdam (New York) brought this fun and lively tradition (some even say cult) to America.Christmas celebrations did not gain widespread prominence however until the Middle Ages or starting from around 400AD.
One memory I had with Santa, was when I was 7, I went to go sit on Santa's lap and when I got done I could pick out any teddy bear I wanted for free! I got the biggest one it was twice the size of my seven year-old self!

My favorite memory of Santa Claus is probably going to the mall and sitting on Santa's lap in the Crossroads Mall.

The momerory of Santa that I have is at the mall one day he was there and you could take pictures with him. I wasn't afraid of him so i ran up there and sat on his lap. But my brother was scared of him and he started crying. When santa asked me what i wanted for Christmas i sat there for like 10 minutes telling him everything I wanted. I did't want to leave him when it was time to go.

Christmas began an Europe and The middle east. When I was little I believed in him now I don't because he is not real but I put a letter in the mail box at the mall
Santa began when the stories,"'Twas The Night Before Christmas" and"Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer". My memory of seeing santa Claus was when I was 4 and he came in on December 20,2004 in Pocahantas and it was about 5:00 in the afternoon. He gave me a hot wheels car. I thought it was pretty kool Santa claus ame to little kids' houses and brought them stuff early. I even watched him go to Noah's house. It was fun watching him run.
The symbol of giving started in Jerusalem when are Lord Jesus Christ was born. When I was like 9 years old, I went to Bransonm, Missouri with my cousins for Thanksgiving. While we were there we went to Silver Dollar City... it was AWESOME there. The second day we went there, it was at night so they had all the christmas lights up and everything; we went to Santa's workshop... I had an awesome time there I made a toy car, frosted cookies, and sat on Santa's lap. The reason this is my memory is cause I won't forget Silver Dollar City and all the christmas lights and displays.. and that was the fattest Santa's lap I had sat on in my lifetime but he was very nice!!(:

Giving has started a long time ago. One of the first events of giving gifts is in the 4th century. When St. Nicholas, a bishop gave to people less fortunate than himself. I don't really have a memory of Santa, Because I never really belived that he was real.
The symbol of giving started in Jerusalem when are Lord Jesus Christ was born. My best memory of santa was when my family and I were in colorado at a place called Santa's Workshop. It's a huge amusment park that is based on santa's workshop, so we got to see santa and he gave me a small candy cane then he put it in a red bag and out came a big candy cane. It was the best time ever. YES, I do BELIEVE in santa.
Santa started in the 1800s, when an old man, named Nick, went around giving gifts and giving his heart. The tradition kept going even until he died. His name was soon changed to St. Nick, but has many other famous names like Santa Claus, Father Christmas, and Good Saint Nick.
Every Christmas Eve, my family of many, gets together and we eat some great food, play games, and open presents. Every year Santa comes over to my house and we all get a picture with him and he gives us candy canes. He's just a good friend helping out the real Santa in the North Pole, but it is really nice to see all my cousins faces when he walks in the door. Last year he couldn't make it, but hopefully he will come this year!
Well I personally do not believe in Santa Claus, and if your parents say hes real, they are lying. The best memory ive had with the so called "Santa Claus" was when we went to church and came back and all the presents were mysteriously under the tree. My mom said it was santa but i overheard her talking on the phone to our neighbor telling him to put the presents under the tree. Christmas is about when jesus was born. The symbol of giving was in jerusalem. Hey NICK SANTA IS FAKE!!!!
Jeruselum when our Lord Jesus Christ was born was when the symbol of giving started. My best vivd memory of santa claus was when my Uncle Mark dressed up at santa claus and gave us our gifts. It was funny too because he got hit in the head with a pillow by my cousin Abby. That was the best christmas ever. Yes , today I pretend santa is real with my baby cousins but in my mind I don't believe in Santa Clause anymore......
It's sort of hard to think about Santa Claus when you don't believe in him. It first got started long ago in the 3rd century when our savior Jesus Christ was born in Jeruselum. One time when I was like 4 I was at my Aunt's house and Santa came in and gave me a candy cane and I got scared. Then my mom wanted me to watch him fly off, but he didn't. That was pretty much a no brainer that he is a fake.
Christmas really is an amazing time of year when you think about the fact that this is the single major event in the last 2,000 years that is celebrated by most of the world. While the birth of Christ and the Christmas story can seem removed from our lives today and it's origins while subject to debate, the celebration is an overwhelming testimony to the event.
The exact date that Jesus Christ was born is not known. The first Christmas was not celebrated until the year 350 AD when Pope Julius I officially designated December 25 to celebrate Christ's birth. The origin of gift giving seems to have multi-faceted roots. We have many recorded events in history that show the giving and receiving of gifts dates back at least to the 4th century. St. Nicholas, a Christian Bishop, was known for his generosity in giving to those less fortunate than he, as well as giving to children of all backgrounds simply because he felt they needed to savor their childrood, and have joyous times to remember (contrary to the beliefs of that time, which would suggest that boys even as young as 8 be sent to work to help earn income for their families and girls as young as 5 to help their mothers with the housework and meal preparation). The most common gift given were homemade foods and sweets, oranges (this was a huge treat due to the fact they were very rare), handcrafted gifts such as socks, sweaters, dresses, nightgowns, blankets, tables, chairs, and other handmade useful items. This tradition began with St. Nicholas in Turkey. It moved throughout the world very quickly, and before the 10th century is is supposed that nearly every country was participating in this exchange. My most vivid time with Santa is when i was 5 i told myself i was going to stay up all night and see santa i got down in the corner and was watching a movie on my portable dvd player with my ear phones in and just chillin then my mom walked out of her room with a whole bunch of presents and was putting them in the stockings and under the tree. Then i got mad and jumped out of the corner and screamed "WHAT DID YOU DO TO SANTA!" hhaaa! thats allll. byeee! :) <3
Obviously Santa is not real. Seriously if you still believe in him than I think that's just plain pathetic. OK It's a big fat guy flying around on a slay pulled by reindeer and sneaking into childrens houses to give them something. He originated. I hate the idea of santa claus because when I was at my babysitters house when I was young I said something about santa and got in HUGE trouble because they said that I said he wasn't real. The Idea originated from the dutch legend sinter clause. the symbol of giving started around 350 A.D.

While the birth of Christ and the Christmas story can seem removed from our lives today and it's origins while subject to debate, the celebration is an overwhelming testimony to the event. I don't believe in Santa anymore, i did when i was a little girl. I think Christmas morning isn't very exciting anymore when you know he isn't real. My favorite was when i was in Nebraska for christmas and my uncle dressed up as Santa! :)
The tradition of a man dressed in a red suit and brought presents to kids in the middle of the night on December 25th started in the year of Christ started in Jerluselum when baby Christ was born. The tradistion spread to the America's when the settlers first arived. Till this day the tradition is still strong. I've never believed in Santa, I always knew it was my dad/mom.
the tradition of giving started when christ was born. When i was eight years old i wanted to get up early. So at 3:45 i got up and i went in the living room and looked under the tree. There were presents wraped in red and green all around the tree, there was even a sled for me and my sister. After i looked at the presents i went to the TV and watch my favorite christmas movie THE CHRISTMAS STORY. then we opened presents and that was it. that was the best christmas ever. it meaned the world to me that santa came.
It started when Jesus Christ, was born, In Jerusalem. Christmas is the best time of year, when you can spend time with your family. Santa, would go to your house to put presents, under the tree. Well, I no that Santa isn't reel, But, he used to be. People think because he isn't they think it's all about the presents. It's about spending time with your family. Not just about Santa giving you presents.Well, this year I'm going to my grandmas house and this is were my family always have Christmas. I love Christmas.
The tradition started in December 25th when chrsit was born. christ was born in Jerluselum. Every since that the tradition has still been going on. I was told that santa was never real. So then i never belived in santa.
Ok Santa Clause is not real nobody lives in the north pole and randomly goes and makes just makes trillion of toys for other random people but The symbol of giving began in Jerluselum on December 25th. Christmas is about when jesus was born and i think jay has a point cause no fat guy would do that and his helpers? come on man make something up better than his little elfs. HES NOT REAL. thats all.
Well I know Santa's not real. Because you can't fly around the world in a slay that weights one billion pounds. I mean a can't wait till Christmas. Because I am getting the new xbox 360. The Idea originated from the dutch legend sinter clause. the symbol of giving started around 350 A.D
The symbo for santa started in Jerusilum when Jesus was born its not about getting presents it about giving and spending time with your family and just talking. For christmas i remember i was 5 and i got a cat and it said from santa i was so happy i got a cat that was my favorite christmas.
I know Santa isn't real. I don't appreciate all the lying parents out there. It orriginated from St. Nicholas who was born in Lycia, Greece who started giving. My best memory was when "Santa Clause" came to my house he gave me a shark puzzle than I ran upstairs to see his reindeer in the driveway because he rang the front door, but all I saw was a minivan pulling out of our driveway. I also remember one time when I had to go sit on Santa's lap but I knew he wasn't real but I had to because my brother still believed in him. I was thinking OK well I'm sitting on a random person's lap telling him what I want for Christmas.
Santa is not real and i don't even know how I or anybody could believe in him. No one could ever fly around in a sleigh in one night and deliver Christmas presents to all the kids. And i know that hes not real because not to long ago I was watching my baby videos and the date at the bottom of the screen said 12/20/2001 and we were having Christmas at our house when I was 4. My dad handed me a present and said it was from "Santa" and last time I checked "Santa" did not come on the 20th.
The American version of Santa Claus came from the Dutch legend of Sinter Klaas. They called him St. A Claus at first, but it was the author, Washington Irving who told Americans about Saint Nicholas in 1773. I haven't seen Santa Claus in a LONG time so I don't really have a vivid memory of seeing him.
Santa Clause is a symbol that originally started when Dutch made him up except his name was Sinterklass. It started way back in 350 AD. He started to be a symbol around when Jesus Christ was born. I don't believe in Santa. Because really, like pretty much everyone that has posted has said it's a fat man, in a red snow suit, sneaking into little children s houses to give them presents. That is kind of creepy don't you think?
Christmas got started in Jerusalem. Christmas or Christmas Day is a holiday observed generally on December 25 to commemorate the birth of Jesus, the central figure of Christianity. The date is not known to be the actual birthday of Jesus, and may have initially been chosen to correspond with either the day exactly nine months after some early Christians believed Jesus had been conceived, the date of the winter solstice on the ancient Roman calendar, or one of various ancient winter festivals. Christmas is central to the Christmas and holiday season, and in Christianity marks the beginning of the larger season of Christmastide, which lasts twelve days.
Nicholas lived in a place now called Turkey, his parents where wealthy and he was well educated. He was very kind and giving. He would often go out and deliver presents to the needy. http://www.lone-star.net/mall/main-areas/xmas-santa-origin2.htm
When I was little Santa to me was a heavy man who had a red suit and, black buits. I used to think that he would come down a whole in my house, and bring me presents. But now I am older I relise the truth about Santa.
The original Santa came from the dutch version called Sint Nikolaas. The one moment that I realy remember is the last time our whole entire family got together at once. I was 5. It was christmas day and santa stll hadnt come my mom and I had just moved into a apartment down town from my grandmas. So my mom told me to go with my great grandma to drive by the apartment. So I went with and my mom and grandma and others stayed home while we went to look. When we got back there was dozens of presents sitting in the living room. My mom said that Santa stopped by while I was gone and the carrots I left for the raindeer where gone. THey told me that Santa brought roudouph inside with him to meet me but I was gone. Once we where done eating we all sat around the christmas tree and opened our presents. That was my last christmas with my great grandma and grandpa Frisk. They both died 6 monthes later. That was my favorite moment in the car with them just talking. <3
The symbol of giving started in Bethlehem when Jesus Christ was born. My most vivid memory of Santa Claus was at one of our family christmases when my uncle came in and handed everyone a present.
it started in dutch in 1558 from a real guy named st. nicholas and the tradition started spreading to the vikings and germans. my favorite christmas was when i was like 6 and i got a new remote controll car that was huge it meant a lot to me because i used to play with it and burn the tires in the middle of the house and every other christmas has been the same pretty much
The symbol of giving started in Jerusalem when Jesus Christ was born. The most vivid memory I have was when I was a little kid at the mall with "Santa". I was to little to think much of it.
Santa Clause came from a real person his name is Saint Nicholas and it started because along time ago he used to give out gold to poor people all over the town and that is how the tradition of gift giving got started. One of my most vivid memories is three years ago my family and I wen't to Pomeroy to see Santa Clause, and after that we went and saw this guy's house that had a whole bunch of different. Christmas is my favorite time of the year!
Santa Claus, also known as Saint Nicholas, Father Christmas, Kris Kringle, or simply "Santa", is a figure which was derived from the Dutch figure of Sinterklaas is said to bring gifts to the homes of the good children during the late evening and overnight hours of Christmas Eve, December 24. As "Sinterklaas" Saint Nicholas was originally portrayed wearing bishop's robes. Today Santa Claus is generally depicted as a plump, jolly, white-bearded man wearing a red coat with white collar and cuffs, white-cuffed red trousers, and black leather belt and boots. My favorite memory of Santa is when I was in first grade. Every Christmas Eve, all of my sisters and I would sleep in the basement. We still were not asleep at 1:00 AM, so we all went one by one to the bathroom. When it was my turn, I looked into the living room. I saw a GIANT present that was not there before, and it was moving! I was to excited that "Santa" was at my house so I ran back to the basement and went to sleep as fast as I coould!
Christmas all started in Jerusalem when Jesus Christ was born in a stable. Santa Clause started when St. Nicholas started to give just for the joy of it. I always remember looking on the internet for the "Santa Tracker" and looking at where he was at on Christmas Eve. I don't believe in Santa. I found out he wasn't real when I looked it up on the internet. Santa isn't legit; Chuck Norris is.
The symbol of giving started when Jesus Christ was born in Jerusalem. Santa Claus started when a man named St. Nicholas decided to give presents just to give. I don't have any memories of Santa Claus.
The symbol of giving started in Jerusalem where our Lord Jesus Christ was born! Well, I can't really remember my most VIVID memory of Santa. But many have different oppinions of him....but I think he is truely, epically real!

ReplyDeleteSANTA IS FAKE!
It all started when our savior, Jesus Christ, was born in Jeruselem.Christmas really is an amazing time of year when you think about the fact that this is the single major event in the last 2,000 years that is celebrated by most of the world. :)
ReplyDeleteThe tradition of a man dressed in a red suit and brought presents to kids in the middle of the night on December 25th started in the year of Christ started in Jerluselum when baby Christ was born. The tradistion spread to the America's when the settlers first arived. Till this day the tradition is still strong. I've never believed in Santa, I always knew it was my dad/mom.
ReplyDeletethe tradition of giving started when christ was born.
ReplyDeleteIt started when Jesus Christ, was born, In Jerusalem.
ReplyDeleteThe tradition started in December 25th when chrsit was born. christ was born in Jerluselum. Every since that the tradition has still been going on. I was told that santa was never real. So then i never belived in santa.
ReplyDeleteOk Santa Clause is not real nobody lives in the north pole and randomly goes and makes just makes trillion of toys for other random people but The symbol of giving began in Jerluselum on December 25th. Christmas is about when jesus was born and i think jay has a point cause no fat guy would do that and his helpers? come on man make something up better than his little elfs. HES NOT REAL. thats all.
ReplyDeleteWell I know Santa's not real. Because you can't fly around the world in a slay that weights one billion pounds. I mean a can't wait till Christmas. Because I am getting the new xbox 360.
ReplyDeleteThe Idea originated from the dutch legend sinter clause. the symbol of giving started around 350 A.D
The symbo for santa started in Jerusilum when Jesus was born its not about getting presents it about giving and spending time with your family and just talking. For christmas i remember i was 5 and i got a cat and it said from santa i was so happy i got a cat that was my favorite christmas.
ReplyDeleteI know Santa isn't real.
ReplyDeleteSanta is not real and i don't even know how I or anybody could believe in him.
ReplyDeleteThe American version of Santa Claus came from the Dutch legend of Sinter Klaas. They called him St. A Claus at first, but it was the author, Washington Irving who told Americans about Saint Nicholas in 1773.
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen Santa Claus in a LONG time so I don't really have a vivid memory of seeing him.
ReplyDeleteChristmas got started in Jerusalem.
ReplyDeleteNicholas lived in a place now called Turkey, his parents where wealthy and he was well educated. He was very kind and giving. He would often go out and deliver presents to the needy. http://www.lone-star.net/mall/main-areas/xmas-santa-origin2.htm
ReplyDeleteWhen I was little Santa to me was a heavy man who had a red suit and, black buits.
ReplyDeleteThe symbol of giving started in Bethlehem when Jesus Christ was born. My most vivid memory of Santa Claus was at one of our family christmases when my uncle came in and handed everyone a present.
ReplyDeleteSanta started from a dutch man called Saint nick. I have only sat at on Santa clauses lap at the mall when I was little an it didn't mean alot to me.
ReplyDeleteit started in dutch in 1558 from a real guy named st. nicholas and the tradition started spreading to the vikings and germans. my favorite christmas was when i was like 6 and i got a new remote controll car that was huge it meant a lot to me because i used to play with it and burn the tires in the middle of the house and every other christmas has been the same pretty much
ReplyDeleteThe symbol of giving started in Jerusalem when Jesus Christ was born. The most vivid memory I have was when I was a little kid at the mall with "Santa". I was to little to think much of it.
ReplyDeleteSanta Clause came from a real person his name is Saint Nicholas and it started because along time ago he used to give out gold to poor people all over the town and that is how the tradition of gift giving got started. One of my most vivid memories is three years ago my family and I wen't to Pomeroy to see Santa Clause, and after that we went and saw this guy's house that had a whole bunch of different. Christmas is my favorite time of the year!
ReplyDeleteSanta Claus, also known as Saint Nicholas, Father Christmas, Kris Kringle, or simply "Santa", is a figure which was derived from the Dutch figure of Sinterklaas is said to bring gifts to the homes of the good children during the late evening and overnight hours of Christmas Eve, December 24.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite memory of Santa is when I was in first grade.
Christmas orriginated from St. Nicholas who was born in Lycia, Greece who started giving, and I do not have a vivid memory from santa.
ReplyDeleteChristmas all started in Jerusalem when Jesus Christ was born in a stable.
ReplyDeleteThe symbol of giving started when Jesus Christ was born in Jerusalem. Santa Claus started when a man named St. Nicholas decided to give presents just to give. I don't have any memories of Santa Claus.
ReplyDeleteThe symbol of giving started in Jerusalem where our Lord Jesus Christ was born! Well, I can't really remember my most VIVID memory of Santa. But many have different oppinions of him....but I think he is truely, epically real!
