"We don't want to live a cold, dark life.
Just look at the leaves - they're fall down'
Let's get ourselves out of this northern town!"
'Fall, leaves, fall'
ReplyDeleteFall, leaves, fall; die, flowers, away;
Lengthen night and shorten day;
Every leaf speaks bliss to me
Fluttering from the autumn tree.
I shall smile when wreaths of snow
Blossom where the rose should grow;
I shall sing when night's decay
Ushers in a drearier day.

My Poem:
Leaves fall in the Fall.
Springs don't spring in the Spring.
Summer doesn't summer in the Summer.
Winter doesn't winter in the Winter.
That's why leaves fall in the Fall.
In autumn when the trees are brown
ReplyDeletethe little leaves come tummbling down
they do not make the slightest sound
but lie so quitly on the ground
until the wind comes puffing by
and blows them off toward the sky
The leaves fall and change colors because they are adapting to the weather change.
ReplyDeleteThe leaves fall because the trees are going to go into hybernation for the winter.

My poem:
Tori and I crawl, through the leaves of fall, We go around the river bed, while Nick and Jackson throw pumpkins at our heads!
The leaves fall because the weather gets colder.

Golden and red trees
Nod to the soft breeze,
As it whispers, "Winter is near;"
And the brown nuts fall
At the wind's loud call,
For this is the Fall of the year.
Good-by, sweet flowers!
Through bright Summer hours
You have filled our hearts with cheer
We shall miss you so,
And yet you must go,
For this is the Fall of the year.
Now the days grow cold,
As the year grows old,
And the meadows are brown and sere;
Brave robin redbreast
Has gone from his nest,
For this is the Fall of the year.
I do softly pray
At the close of day,
That the little children, so dear,
May as purely grow
As the fleecy snow
That follows the Fall of the year
The leaves change colors because when they fall off the tree the sun hits it and the sun causes it to change colors and they are adating to the The stripped and shapely

ReplyDeleteSpades take up leave No better than spoons,And bags full of leaves are light as balloons. I make a great noiseOf rustling all dayLike rabbit and deerRunning away. But the mountains I raiseElude my embrace,Flowing over my arms
And into my face. I may load and unload
Again and againTill I fill the whole shed,And what have I then? Next to nothing for weight,And since they grew duller From contact with earth,Next to nothing for color. Next to nothing for use.But a crop is a crop,And who's to say where The harvest shall stop?
Robert Frost
A poem i made up is,
Leaves,leaves, where have they gone,
on the ground or up in the sky,
Leaves,leaves, where are they from,
are they from the tree tops,or from the air passing by?

I Love Fall
ReplyDeleteI love fall! Fall is exciting.
It's apples and cider.
It's an airborne spider.
It's pumpkins in bins.
It's burrs on dog's chins.
It's wind blowing leaves.
It's chilly red knees.
It's nuts on the ground.
It's a crisp dry sound.
It's green leaves turning
And the smell of them burning.
It's clouds in the sky.
It's fall. That's why...
I love fall.
Because they are dieing and they lost the chlorophyll and that gives them there green color.
The old earth is changing;
ReplyDeleteThe seasons turn round.
The autumn leaves flutter
Their way to the ground.
My own world is changing;
The seasons conspire
To grant me the peace
Of a rest by the fire.

My poem
As pumpkins start to grow,
the leaves fall slow.
As the trees look skinny and tall,
the time has come, it is fall.
In the fall leaves change colors because they are losing all their chlorophyll. They keep on falling off because the winds keep howling louder and stronger. I found a poem called Down! Down!

To lay a carpet, rich and rare,
Beneath the trees without a care,

At other times, they wildly fly
Until they nearly reach the sky.
Twisting, turning through the air
Till all the trees stand stark and bare.
Exhausted, drop to earth below
To wait, like children, for the snow.

when fall begins, the leaves begin to die. The die because the days are shorter because there is less sun light. When the leaves starts to die, the chlorophyll breaks down, and the green color begins to disappear. All the hidden colors can now be seen. I found this information at wwww.tooter4kids.com.
ReplyDeleteThis is my poem. The trees are lossing their leaves. And releaseing their seeds. And fofilles the childrens needs.
Changes Seen in Autumn
Leaves fly off the road as you drive.
Leaves change different colors.
Leaves fall off the trees.
Leaves are in piles on the ground.
Leaves are red.
Trees are bare.
Squirrels start hiding acorns.
Squirrels start sleeping.
Scarecrows scare the birds away.
The birds start flying south.
Wind and rain knocks the leaves off.
People are wearing coats.
It turns cold.
People are raking leaves.
People eat pumpkin pie.
It's closer to Halloween.
People dress up for Halloween.
Pumpkins are seen everywhere.
I found this sight at www.capek12.mo.us
The leaves change colors beause in fall their isn't as much sun so the leaves don't produce as much clorophyll. Chlorophyll makes the leaves green so if there isn't any chlorophyll than the leaves aren't going to be green.
ReplyDeleteThey fall off because the tree doesn't need the leaves anymore to make "food". The tree doesn't need food because it Hibernates in the winter.
Autumn by John Clare (English, 1793-1864)
The thistle-down's flying, though the winds are all still,
On the green grass now lying, now mounting the hill,
The spring from the fountain now boils like a pot;
Through stones past the counting it bubbles red hot.
The ground parched and cracked is like overbaked bread,
The greensward all wracked is, bents dried up and dead.
The fallow fields glitter like water indeed,
And gossamers twitter, flung from weed unto weed.
Hill tops like hot iron glitter bright in the sun,
And the rivers we're eying burn to gold as they run;
Burning hot is the ground, liquid gold is the air;
Whoever looks round sees Eternity there.
My Poem
Fall is coming,
My face is numbing,
Autumn is here,
so let's go and cheer,
for some Iowa football

Autumn is fall which make trees go bare
Spring is spring which makes trees grow back leaves
Summer is summer which makes trees and flowers rise very high
Winter is winter which make trees look dead
fall is the time when leaves fall off the tree and die and make a big pile of leaves.
ReplyDeletemy poem
i run and jump into a big pile of leaves and sit in front of a fire place and eat a sandwhich.
The leaves change because, it changes the tempeture of the seson that it is.
ReplyDeleteThen it gets somtimes sunny so thats why leveas change. The leaves change somtimes when they fall of the tree the sun hits them and that can change there color to.
The leaves fall of by the wind hiting the trees. Becase when it is fall, it get windy and the tree branches move around, and when that happens they fall of.
Falling gently with the breze,
Brreaking canopy from the trees,
Leaves of sizes big and small

The leafs change color and fall off because the temprature changes and it causes a dramatic efect on the trees. less nutriance is brought to the leafs and the leafs change color and fall off.

when i see that scattered pattern
it is the best sight to see

Leaves, leaves in your dreams,

in the trees in your dreams
fall, fall its when the leaves fall
The fall leaves are not just leaves but more like a firework show, more than just a season a wounder of colors. Many many colors coming through like spring rainbows. Fall is time of leaves not just for shows more like a wonder of lush colors from above. Many Leaves to crunch around or stomp in the bushes, Or make a big big pile and jump all around. Leaves change color because of the climate and the loss of chloroplast.

Autumn Nature

Rustling leaves echo
Branches sway as the wind gathers speed and
Scares the birds away
Thick clouds move
Across the sky
Shadows move with them
Icy wind cuts into skin
Catching breath is a struggle
Doors slam, windows rattle
But suddenly the clouds
Disappear
The screams of the wind fade
The sun is allowed to shine
People step outside
The birds return
Fall Poems Autumn Nature
Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness,
ReplyDeleteClose bosom-friend of the maturing sun;
Conspiring with him how to load and bless
With fruit the vines that round the thatch-eves run;
To bend with apples the moss'd cottage-trees,
And fill all fruit with ripeness to the core;
To swell the gourd, and plump the hazel shells
With a sweet kernel; to set budding more,
And still more, later flowers for the bees,
Until they think warm days will never cease,
For Summer has o'er-brimm'd their clammy cells.

Autumn Fires

In the other gardens
And all up the vale,
From the autumn bonfires
See the smoke trail!
Pleasant summer over
And all the summer flowers,
The red fire blazes,
The grey smoke towers.
Sing a song of seasons!
Something bright in all!
Flowers in the summer,
Fires in the fall!
